Since my secondary schooling, real state journals have always caught my attention and I want to develop my career in the real estate market. Though my experience in real estate field has been limited, however, I have gained valuable work experience while doing my real estate fund internship last summer. From there I decided to have my career path within the property market. After graduation, I plan to begin my career in Property Investment Company in China. Being a bilingual and able to speak English and Mandarin gives me an edge to work anywhere across Asia. My ultimate goal is to start my own real estate business in China and provide different real estate consulting and investment services to clients from Europe. To accomplish this goal, I should have valuable work experience as well as strong networks within the industry. Courses such as real estate development and real estate investment and risk analysis in MPhil Real Estate Finance programme will assist me in gaining practical research skills as well as learning risk management techniques for the changing business environment. The full RICS qualification combined with the course develops my analysing and financial modelling skills which is a perfect foundation for my future career path. I believe I have strong social conscience and a passion to positively manipulate the world of real estate.

My teenage years began as a deputy head boy and school basketball team captain. I have been developing my leadership skills through contributing for my secondary school as well as my inter-personal skills through my dedication to the anti-bullying initiative and mentoring scheme. Under my leadership in 2006, my secondary school basketball team was promoted from division 2 to division 1 when we achieved the Championship in the Hong Kong Inter-School Basketball League. I did my best to motivate them, accelerate them, and to play as one single unit. Apart from that, I have participated in working for charity organizations for more than 200 hours in 2005 to 2007. I was a volunteer in the Hong Kong Vocational Centre to help special children to learn to live in a community for their future. In those schooling days, I used to spend my leisure time in helping elderly in Shatin Retirement Centre in their daily activities such as accompanying retired people to go to church on weekends etc.
In November 2008, I achieved the runner up position of the Warwick Entrepreneur Business Idea Competition which was sponsored by Merrill Lynch and Accenture. I had to submit a detailed business proposal and to present my business idea to the panel of judges from both sponsors, and answer their questions in front more than 100 people. From that I not only learned that how to plan and start a business, but also experienced how to effectively communicate ideas to audience. Following the summer 2009, I travelled to Beijing to attend the Management Entrepreneurship and Global Leadership course at London School of Economics Peking University Summer School. After being taught by the two of the worlds leading institutions and scoring an A in that course, I built strong foundation of entrepreneurship as well as I gained valuable experience by working on a business project with students who had worked in different industries and were from different education background. I learnt from their experience and expertise. I also realized the cultural difference between East and West that gives me an edge to start my business in China in the future.
Through my internship experience at S W L Solicitors and Notaries in Hong Kong during the summer 2006, I gained exposure in familiarizing with general property legal procedures, coordination with other professional parties, and the opportunities to involve in live projects. Moreover my internship experience in summer 2009 at the real estate fund department of a financial service company, Mourant International, has further strengthened my knowledge in real estate finance. I assisted the team in running co-investment schemes and making capital and income distribution for prospective clients. During my work experience, I have not only developed my interpersonal and time management skills, but I have also comprehended the importance of effective teamwork and communication.
